Axis Camera Configuration
2025-09-03
Version 2.4
To set up the camera to stream to the Eagle Eye cloud, you must set up ONVIF and configure a couple of network-related settings. This guide will explain all the necessary configuration steps.
ONVIF Configuration
Log in to the camera.
Click System.
Select ONVIF.
Click Add User.
Create an ONVIF user account.
The password cannot contain special characters, if the camera requires them, use a “-” or “_”.
The profile must have Administrator privileges.
Credentials should match the login for the camera. "root" is not a valid username.
Click Save.
Click System.
Select Date and Time.
Under Synchronization, select Automatic date and time (NTP servers using DHCP).
Ensure the camera is on a currently supported firmware version.
Select Maintenance.
Check our Camera Compatibility List for the minimum required firmware version needed.
If the camera needs to be updated, follow the instructions within the device. Eagle Eye is not authorized to update third party devices.
Select System.
Click Plain Config.
Select Network under Select Group.
Disable the following options:
Bonjour
IPV6
ZeroConf
UPnP
Click Save.
Enable WS-Discovery: This must remain enabled to ensure proper ONVIF camera discovery.
Disable HTTPS: HTTPS may cause issues with PTZ and multi-lens functionality. Ensure this setting is turned off for all PTZ and multi-lens cameras.
Disable Replay Attack Protection: On newer Axis cameras, this feature can prevent streaming to Eagle Eye Networks. Turn it off to restore connectivity.
Select System.
Click Plain Config.
Select WebService under Select Group.
Deselect Enable replay attack protection.
In the Eagle Eye dashboard fill out the username and password for the ONVIF profile in the camera settings.
