Layouts In Enhanced Interface
2026-02-27
Version 1.0
Layouts in the VMS are customizable groups of cameras organized into a single view for easier monitoring and management. Users can create multiple layouts based on roles, locations, or specific operational needs, and access them from both the web interface and the mobile app. Common uses include grouping cameras by department, floor, incident type, or security priority. Layouts improve efficiency by giving users quick access to the most relevant camera feeds for their responsibilities. Please see the appnote attached to this article for a full deep dive on the enhanced interface.
You will be provided with a default All Cameras layout. You will see a list of custom layouts you have created below the default layout under Layouts.Take note of the actions for each camera within a layout.
1. Click Click Layouts on the left menu.
2. Click the waffle (three-dots) icon on the right, and choose New Layout.
3. Specify the prerequisites for your new layout.
4. Select the camera you want included in the new layout, then click Save Changes. Use the search bar to find cameras for larger accounts.
5. Your newly created layout will now show beneath Layouts.
1. Click on the layout you wish to edit. Then click the waffle (three-dots) icon on the right.
2. You can rearrange, resize, or remove a camera from the layout.
Smart Layouts use AI to automatically reposition cameras at the front of your layout that detect motion, people, or vehicles. Instead of manually scanning every camera, users can quickly focus on the most relevant activity. Each alert includes a preview you can click to jump directly to the recorded event. Smart Layouts are available only for Professional and Enterprise editions of the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS.
1. To configure smart layouts. Click the (three-dots) icon on the top right, then choose Smart Layouts for an existing layout.
2. The Events tab shows the most recent events in order. Clicking a thumbnail in the Events section opens the camera’s History Browser at the exact time the event occurred.
3. The Settings tab establishes the criteria for an event.
