Swapping a bridge or camera lets you physically replace faulty hardware with a new working device without deleting and re-adding it to the system. For cameras, this means you can keep all previously recorded footage from the old device. For bridges, it prevents the need to delete and reconfigure every device connected to the old bridge.
Before proceeding, make sure you have physically replaced the old faulty device with the new working one. Please make sure all cables return to their original positions.
Camera Swaps
To perform a camera swap, navigate to the camera settings by clicking the three dots for the old camera, then click the Replace button. Make sure the new camera is physically installed and appears in the Add Cameras section mentioned above.
Select the new camera you would like to swap in place of your old camera.
Your camera swap is now complete. Please allow up to 10 minutes for the system to process. The new camera inherits the old camera's name and settings while retaining all previous recordings.
Bridge Swaps
Start by adding your new bridge to the Dashboard. Please allow up to 10 minutes for the newly added bridge to show as online on the Dashboard.
Best practice is to name the new bridge "Swap” to avoid confusion. The new bridge will inherit the name of the old bridge during the swap process. Your Attach ID will be provided on a paper slip in the box that contains your new bridge.
You will see your newly added bridge online.
Hover over the old bridge and click the gear icon
Scroll down and click Replace Bridge, then select the newly added bridge you wish to take its place (in this example, “swap”).
You will see the following message. Click Continue. Please allow up to an hour for the system to swap the bridges.
Your bridge swap is now complete. You will now see the bridge is online with an updated serial number in the settings section (gear Icon).
