Eagle Eye VMS Camera Direct Complete Setup and User Guide

This guide describes how to add Camera Direct cameras to the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS.

Introduction

With Eagle Eye VMS Camera Direct, you can easily integrate your cameras with the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS without the need for a Bridge or CMVR. Connect your camera to the internet and add it to the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS using its MAC address. Once added, your cameras are immediately ready for viewing within the Cloud VMS.

Adding a Camera Direct Camera to the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS

Prerequisites

In order to set up your Eagle Eye Camera Direct, you need the following: 
  1. An Eagle Eye Cloud VMS account. 
  2. A camera model that is supported by Camera Direct.
    1. Note: Make sure the camera is in factory default settings, and runs the latest firmware for its model. 
  3. The MAC address of the Camera Direct camera.

Procedure

Make sure the camera is turned on and is connected to the internet. 
  1. Go to the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS and log in with your credentials. 
  2. Go to Dashboard.
  3. Click the  icon, and choose Add Camera Direct from the drop-down list.
  4. In the Add Camera Direct dialog, name the camera and enter its MAC address


  1. The Camera Direct Camera is added to your Eagle Eye Cloud VMS account.



It will initially be listed as offline on the dashboard, but after a maximum of two minutes should be marked with a green check mark indicating an online status.
Using the Live View and History Browser with Camera Direct cameras in the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS works the same way as it does with any other cameras. If you need assistance refer to our knowledge base article here.

Upcoming Features

At present, Camera Direct cameras do not support the following features: 
  1. VPN to cameras 
  2. Analytics (other than motion) 
  3. Camera I/O support 
  4. 2-Way Audio support
  5. License Plate Recognition (LPR) support
