Version 1.0

Description

This document will help you configure your Vivotek camera for integration with the Eagle Eye Networks system.

Set Up

Upon log in to a Vivotek camera, you will be greeted with a view of the live video.

Select Configuration in the top right to access the settings.

Within the settings you’ll see the Version in the bottom left window.

Before configuration, ensure your camera is running on a supported firmware for the Eagle Eye system.

View supported camera firmware versions here.

If your camera is not on a supported firmware version, you can update the device from the System>Maintenance menu. Visit www.vivotek.com for firmware files.

Once on a supported firmware, configuration can truly begin.

Configuration

Select Media>Video>Stream.

Open Video Settings for Stream 1 and ensure it is set to H.264 with a Max Frame Rate of 12fps.

Deselect Dynamic intra frame period and Smart Codec.

Then select Video Settings for Stream 2 and set it to MJPEG with a Max Frame Rate of 8fps.

Select Save at the bottom.

Select Network>Streaming Protocols.

Click the HTTP header and ensure Authentication is set to digest.

Click the RTSP header and ensure Authentication is set to digest.

Configuration for a Vivotek camera doesn’t require many special settings, but ensure these settings are changed as well as the other standards.

Disable UPnP.

This can be found in Network>General Settings.

While here, double check the Network settings.

If the local network is static, select Use fixed IP address and input the network information.

If the local network is DHCP (dynamic), select Get IP address automatically.

Select Save.

Disable Bonjour.

This is found within Network>Bonjour.

Select Save.

Once the camera is configured to these specifications, you should be able to add it to your Eagle Eye Networks system without any issues. If the camera is unable to stream, check the physical connections first, then reach out to Eagle Eye Technical Support for assistance.
