Encoder Configuration

2024-05-15

Version 2.0

Description

Encoders are utilized to integrate analog cameras with the Eagle Eye Networks solution. They convert analog signals into ip. The configuration within this guide will cover different brands, however most information will pertain to all encoders.

Prerequisites

Check the Encoder Compatibility List to ensure your device is compatible and on the supported firmware version.

Ensure all the Channels within the encoder are streaming. When you first log in you will be presented with a live feed of Channel 1. There should be a Channel selector within the window.

Select each channel to ensure the feed is live.

Most devices list their current firmware version in a System or Maintenance section. If not on the correct version, you will need to update the device. Eagle Eye Networks is not authorized to update third party devices. Wisenet’s is found under Upgrade/ Restart.

Configuration

Wisenet encoders do not require much in the way of configuration. ONVIF is the main setting we need to configure to properly integrate the device.

  1. Click Network.

  2. Select Advanced Settings.

  3. Click Integration Protocol.

  4. Click Add.

  5. Create an ONVIF login with the same credentials as the camera at the Administrator level.

On-Screen Display

Eagle Eye suggests turning off the On-Screen-Display for Display Date, because it triggers motion recording.

  1. Click Image.

  2. Select OSD Settings.

  3. Deselect Display Date.
