Cisco Switch Configuration Guide

For utilization of a third party switch, the configuration is simple.

IGMP Snooping must be disabled and Multicast must be enabled.

These configurations must be made before contacting Eagle Eye Support for assistance. We will not be able to communicate with cameras that are attached to the switch if it is configured incorrectly. Eagle Eye cannot access switches made by another manufacturer, so we are unable to configure these devices.

Utilizing multiple VLANs on an Eagle Eye system is not recommended as we cannot guarantee the connection to cameras will be stable. If the site chooses to set up their system in this way, Eagle Eye may be unable to fully assist with troubleshooting.

Enabling Multicast:

  1. Navigate to Switch > Configure > Routing and DHCP.

  2. Select the interfaces that require multicast routing.

  3. Under multicast support, select Enable multicast routing.

  4. Click Save.

Enable 'Flood Multicast Traffic' to ensure full Multicast functionality.

Managed Switches can forward IGMP traffic, but will run IGMP snooping by default. This prevents the switch from sending multicast traffic to hosts who are not yet joined with the proper multicast group.

Disabling IGMP Snooping:

  1. Navigate to Switch > Switch Settings page in the Dashboard.

  2. Disable IGMP Snooping.
