Camera Manager FAQ

I installed a new router and my cameras are offline.

Normally when you get another router, you will get another global IP.

  1. First you will have to be connected to the same network as the cameras. To find your new global IP, go to an IP lookup website. https://www.ping.eu/
  2. Now that you know your new Global IP, log in to CameraManager and open the Networks tab of the camera(s).
  3. Press the "Shift" key on your keyboard and double click on the "Camera IP Address and Port" line.
  4. Change the "IP Address" to the new Global IP.

Change the IP Address, not the Local IP Address.

Sometimes you will need to change the local IP Address as well, however it is unnecessary most of the time.

You will need the MAC addresses of the cameras. This information can be found in the CameraManager application under Camera Info as well as a sticker on the device.

To change the Local IP address of the cameras:

  1. Open the Command Prompt on your Desktop.
  2. Type in the command "ipconfig". This is the gateway, copy this information.
  3. Type in the command ping <gateway>

When the ping is done, fill in the command "arp -a". This command shows all connected devices shown in the network.

Find the MAC addresses of the cameras in the list. Next to this MAC, you will see the new Local IP address.

Fill in this address in the Networks tab.

How can I control the bandwidth that my camera is using?

With bit rate control you can easily restrict the amount of bandwidth used by a camera. If you have many devices on your network, or a limited amount of bandwidth, you can restrict your camera to use a specified amount, between ⅛ and 2 Mb/s.

To utilize bandwidth control:

  • Go to Settings.

  • Select the camera.

  • Go to Footage settings.

  • Underneath the preview screen, click on the beam to set a maximum bandwidth. Choose between 1/8 and 2 Mb/s.

How can I add a camera to a Wi-Fi network?

1. Go to ‘Settings’ in the right top corner and select the camera you want to connect on the left side of the screen.

2. Click ‘Wireless settings’ and select the SSID of your preferred wireless network.

3. If you need to enter the SSID manually (hidden network) check "Manual configuration" and configure manually.

4. Remove the Ethernet cable when configuration is complete. The camera will automatically connect via Wi-Fi.

If the SSID or password is entered incorrectly the camera will not connect. If this occurs, disconnect the camera from the power supply. Reconnect the camera and enter the correct information.

Can I download or share my events?

Want to store events directly on your phone? With the CameraManager app you can download and Share your favorite events to your preferred platforms of social media with the tap of a button.
