Bosch Camera Configuration
2024-12-17
Version 1.0
This guide will provide the necessary configuration needed for Bosch cameras to integrate with an Eagle Eye Networks system. Ensure to follow each configuration step for proper integration.
H265 is not supported at this time
If a Bosch camera has more than 2 stream profiles, note that we use the first or second stream for our main stream, and the fourth or last stream for our preview stream.
Bosch stream copying is not supported. (Stream copying can be automatically activated when Privacy Masks or Recording Profiles are in use.)
Bosch Device Analytics is only available for CPP 14 cameras
Bosch Analytics Rules should be set up from the Bosch Configuration Manager. The Bosch Configuration Manager is a standalone Windows application and can discover cameras only on the WAN side, or from a direct LAN connection.
It is recommended to have bridges on a production schedule, to get the latest Bosch integration improvements
Upon log in, you’ll see the live feed.
Step 1
Click the Configuration tab to view the settings.
Within Configuration, you’ll first want to check the current firmware version. Eagle Eye Networks requires the firmware for Bosch cameras to be at 7.10.0 or above, before being added, or they will not integrate properly.
Step 2
Click Service.
Select System Overview.
If the camera needs to be updated, access the Maintenance menu and use the Check option to locate the firmware on Bosch’s website. Download the file and upload it to the camera. Bosch Camera Firmware
To find out the hardware generation (CPP) of a Bosch camera, please check out this article. Bosch Camera CPP
Eagle Eye Networks is not authorized to update third party devices.
If your camera cannot check for firmware updates, (or you have issues updating it) use this guide to update the device. Legacy Bosch Camera Update Guide
Access the Installer Menu to ensure the encoding is set up properly or the device will not stream.
Step 3
Click Camera.
Select Installer Menu.
Change Coding Standard to H.264.
Step 4
Select Encoder Streams.
Ensure there is one stream set to H.264 and one set to JPEG for Coding Standard. It’s best to have Stream 1 and Stream 2 as H.264 and the last stream as JPEG.
Some Bosch cameras will have more options within this menu. The same guidelines apply.
Step 5
Click Network.
Select Network Services.
Disable RTSPS. (This will reboot the camera.)
If you’re experiencing choppy video playback on IOS, upgrade the camera to its latest CPP firmware and disable b-frames by changing GOP structure to IP.
This setting can be found within Camera> Encoder Profile.
Adjust the setting for the profiles in use for the streams. Use the Profile Name to discern which are being utilized.
