Optimal Bandwidth Configuration

To ensure the Eagle Eye system functions optimally it is necessary to have adequate bandwidth available for the Bridge. We recommend setting the Default Transmit Bandwidth for the Bridge equal to the total megapixel count for the cameras attached to the unit.

First calculate the bandwidth necessary for the system by adding up all the megapixels in relation to the “Full Video Recording” “Resolution” from Camera settings. (HD1=1MP, HD2=2MP and so forth.)

Once you have the total, navigate to the Bridge settings and set the “Default Transmit Bandwidth” to a “Fixed” amount equal to this number.

This calculation is based on a 70% recording cycle for the Cameras. If your Cameras are recording more than this amount per day, or need to record always, you may require more bandwidth.

In the case of a CMVR, this setting will not need to be adjusted as it only affects the bandwidth allotment for uploading video to the cloud. It will only be in use when viewing or downloading recorded footage if no cloud retention is selected.
